Prior to the 5D's timeline, Kiryuu had been the leader of a legendary dueling team called Team Satisfaction, which consisted of Fudou Yuusei, Jack Atlus, Crow Hogan, and himself as the founder and leader. However, later on, Kiryuu's motives for the team had changed, even after they had conquered all of Satellite.
